Congratulations to our collaborators at Vanderbilt University, where a patterned polaratonic structure was used to create a CO2 gas sensor using infrared light. Instead a conventional infrared lamp, which emits a broad spectrum of colors, we used patterned cadmium oxide to create nearly single color emitter, tuned to the frequency of CO2 absorption band. The work was presented in ACS Photonics, available here
