Congratulations to our collaborators at Vanderbilt University, where a patterned polaratonic structure was used to create a CO₂ gas sensor using infrared light. Instead a conventional infrared lamp, which emits a broad spectrum of colors, we used patterned cadmium oxide to create nearly single color emitter, tuned to the frequency of CO₂ absorption band. The work was presented in ACS Photonics, available here
