Check out work which was published with our collaborating lab at Vanderbilt in ACS Nano Letters. We show that energy can coherently transfer between propagating polaritons, localized polaritons, and zone folded modes in a crystal. Whilst here the light was created through heating of the material, ultimately this work could allow the creation of a mid-infrared light emitter driven electrically, through coupling to the zone folded mode.
