Maryam Vaghefi

Graduate Research Assistant
Biography

Maryam Vaghefi received her MSc degree in physics (condensed matter) from Western Michigan University. She focuses on overcoming the challenges of developing the next generation of photonic devices and nondestructive spectroscopy tools and techniques. She designs, fabricates, and characterizes nanostructured devices based on waveguides and gratings structures, to control electromagnetic fields at the nanoscale and improve device efficiency. She also has hands-on experience in developing spectroscopy tools and techniques to characterize devices and materials where traditional spectroscopy tools fail. It's worth noting that she has expertise in lift-off and transfer of thin films and nanodevices to the desired substrate
