Hossein Zandipour

Biography

Hossein Zandipour is currently a graduate research assistant in the University of Iowa’s Quantum Nanophotonic Material Laboratory, with a passion for cutting-edge technology and its applications in the field of experimental condensed matter. Hossein obtained his BS degree in electrical engineering and later pursued his academic interests in the field of Physics by earning his MS degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is currently involved in characterizing Gallium Nitride samples using infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and numerical analysis. In addition to his work on GaN samples, Hossein is part of a dynamic team striving to develop new infrared sensor technologies in the field of polaritonics. The group is currently focused on developing on a novel type of infrared sensor capable of detecting Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) molecules.
